Judhūr (Beginners' Level)

Arabic 101: Arabic for Beginners

This course provides an introduction to the Arabic language for students with little to no prior experience. Students will build a foundation in essential vocabulary, sentence structure, reading, and basic grammar while developing the skills needed to understand and engage with Arabic texts. With an emphasis on gradual and practical learning, the course prepares students for continued study of Arabic and a deeper engagement with the language of the Quran.

Arabic 201: Intermediate Arabic

Building upon the foundations of Arabic 101, this course develops students’ understanding of Arabic grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Students will engage with increasingly complex texts while strengthening their ability to recognize grammatical patterns and understand how the Arabic language functions. The course prepares students for more advanced study and a deeper engagement with the language of the Quran and classical Islamic texts.

Students will engage with more complex Arabic texts while developing a deeper appreciation of linguistic structures, expressions, and styles. The course aims to strengthen students’ ability to independently read, analyze, and understand the Quran and classical Islamic texts.
