Tafsir 101: Preservation & the History of the Quran

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to how the Quran has been safeguarded—from its revelation, recording, compilation, and transmission—highlighting the roles of the Prophet ﷺ, the Companions, and the early Muslim community in preserving it with unmatched precision. The course also addresses common misconceptions and orientalist claims, while examining both the oral and written methods of preservation, the development of the qirāʾāt, and the standardization of the muṣḥaf. By the end, students will gain a clear and confident understanding of the Quran’s authenticity and the miraculous nature of its preservation.
